Volodya Bubela was burned over 75% of his body as the result of a house fire in May 2014. A concerted effort spanning multiple countries and organizations enabled us to med-flight Volodya from Ukraine to Boston on June 1oth 2014. He has been at Shriners for 4 months and has had 40 surgeries.
Volodya still has a long way to go, but we have been able to transfer him out of the micro-climate ” bubble ” and he is now able to sit up. It is still too soon for a prognosis, but there have been some improvements in his condition. Thanks to all involved in providing care and support for this severely-burned boy.
