Dr. Fuzaylov received a call from a burn surgeon and a director of an orphanage in Ukraine. The director depicted a nine year-old boy named Ihor who had poorly healed burns that were in great need of treatment.
At the age of 4 Ihor was severely burned across his stomach. Unfortunately he never received the appropriate treatment for his burn in his home county Ukraine. As a result of his poor medical care his left arm became melded to his body rendering it useless.
Ihor’s parents constantly abused him and he was not given any education. A year ago his constant abuse was noticed and he was placed in an orphanage.
Now Ihor is receiving treatment and rehabilitation at Shriners Hospital in Boston, where he needs to stay for a long time.
